IIT Delhi Admission

Admission to IIT Delhi is done through the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE Advanced), which is a highly competitive exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JEE Advanced is open to students who have qualified for it by scoring in the top percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main).

To be eligible for JEE Advanced, students must have:

  • Passed the Class 12 examination from a recognized board with at least 75% marks in aggregate for General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) categories, and 70% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/PwD categories.
  • Secured a minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for SC/ST/PwD categories.

JEE Advanced is conducted in two parts:

  • Part I: Physics and Chemistry
  • Part II: Mathematics

Each part consists of 180 marks, for a total of 360 marks. The exam is conducted in offline mode, and the duration of each part is 3 hours.

  1. Doctoral Admissions:
    • Ph.D. and other doctoral programs often involve a written test and an interview for shortlisted candidates. Research interests and potential are critical factors for admission.
    • Duration of the programmes: Minimum period of registration required for students with M.Tech. or equivalent qualifications is 2 years whereas those with B. Tech. or equivalent qualifications is 3 years. All

Application Procedure
