Admission
Admission to NIT Trichy’s undergraduate programs is based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Students who have secured a valid rank in JEE Main are eligible to apply for admission to the institute. The admission process also includes an interview.

Admission Procedure
Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
Admission to NITs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC / ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination. Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E. / B.Tech. and B. Arch. / B. Planning Courses in NITs shall be as under
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to IITs, ISM, NITs, IIITs and Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
