The permanent campus of IISER Tirupati is coming up at Srinivasapuram and Panguru village of Yerpedu mandal, on the Yerupedu -Venkatagiri road. IIT Tirupati is also located 3 kms apart on this road. The establishment of IISER and IIT in Tirupati paves the way for a unique synergy of two premier educational institutes in the country. The primary goal of setting up IISERs is to provide high quality education in basic sciences by integrating undergraduate teaching and research. Every IISER is an autonomous institute awarding its own degrees. The IISERs are envisaged to have modern, state-ofthe-art research laboratories for carrying out world-class research work with relevance to the country.

Admission
Admission to IISER Tirupati is based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. Students who have secured a valid rank in JEE Advanced are eligible to apply for admission to the institute. The admission process also includes an interview.
The five-year BS-MS program
The five-year BS-MS program is the flagship programme of the IISERs. The programme aims to integrate the conventional bachelors and masters programs into a more holistic experience, bringing together conventional disciplines in the biological, chemical, physical, earth sciences and mathematics. It focuses on the unified nature of science and aims to train some of the brightest young minds of our country, through some of the best practitioners of science in India. Students are encouraged to take part in research activities, both in IISER and in other leading research laboratories, thus leveraging the symbiotic relationship between conventional education and research.

The Integrated PhD (I-PhD) program
The Integrated PhD (I-PhD) program at IISER Tirupati is for highly motivated students, who wish to pursue a career in research. Students with an excellent academic record can apply for the I-PhD program upon completion of Bachelor’s degree in any branch of science. The course combines curricula for Master’s and Doctorate degrees into a single integrated program with a blend of course work and research project.

Ph.D. PROGRAM Admission
IISER Tirupati invites applications from prospective candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program in January 2024. IISER Tirupati admits students in the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Earth and Climate Sciences, and associated interdisciplinary areas of research. In addition to research, the program involves coursework and teaching assistantships.
